Work Background

Change begins here

I came into counselling in my mid-thirties, having had a career as a Solicitor in London and Exeter.

As a matrimonial Solicitor, I had been touched by the emotional distress that many of my clients experienced and I wanted to work with individuals in a deeper relational way focusing on emotional and psychological wellbeing.

I have 22 years of post-qualification experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist in different settings. I worked for the Exeter & District NHS Trust Counselling Service for 10 years and 3 years for the Margaret Jackson Centre Counselling Service in Exeter.

I have provided counselling for Occupational Health staff, worked with Victim Support staff and worked on a student helpline. I continue to counsel students participating on counselling courses, which I have done for many years.

I have been on the Bodycare Clinics Ltd approved panel of counsellors for 4 years where my work mainly related to road traffic accidents.

I have been a Police Firearms Officers Association approved counsellor since April 2019.

I have been an Associate Therapist for the Nuffield Health Wellbeing Service since February 2020.

I have my own private practice in Exeter which I have been running for 9 years.
